As some of you may already be aware JayhawkJake has been autocrossing nonstop over the past few months, there's nothing wrong with that in and of itself.
The problem is he has an important exam coming up soon which falls on a day after an autocross. Please join me in urging him to miss a single autocross in order to spend more time studying, getting a proper amount of sleep, and whatever other nonsense is required to do well on a test. Go ahead and remind him to be responsible on everything he posts from now until the 19th of this month. Have a white F12 as an advanced thank you for your help.

If it's the PCA Autocross he should skip so we can strip him of his title.

That's definitely not the reason I'm pushing this... (yes it is)

Lol I'm definitely with you then.
On the other hand, I can't blame him. The PCA Autocross is just so easy and nice.

You could try. :)
Any effort attempted in it would be most appreciative. I'm sure you know what my problem is..

Go study. It's for your own good. And absolutely no one else's. I have no ulterior motive for this.

Are you doing the SCCA one Sunday?

I think I will be... I don't get off work till 5:30 but I'll try make it this week. As for you other question: definitely MR2, obviously I'm very biased but you have a Toyota sports car from their golden era against what is sometimes considered the least of M3 family (of course that might not be a terrible thing). Either way you will end up with an older car that is going need stuff replaced no matter what.

You're in need of a Porsche...? I wish I could do better but I'm not on oppo consistently throughout the current semester sadly.

Ouch, I think I've got a project to do, but a lot of mine has been this week. Like 4 midterms and three papers.
I looked at the listings for people doing SCCA's autocross. Literally all of them were people that don't fuck around. Alongside other reasons, I figured I'd not embarrass myself.

Already have one. :P
My problem is that I can't put Oppo down for long periods of time and focus on studying, like I should have been doing for the last two hours... -_-

I took a peek too, looks like it'll be intense. It'd be fun to watch JP and Tom battle it out again. I'm sure the course will be the deciding factor.

Seems like a pretty good deal! Though I guarantee you those t-tops leak at least a little, they always do, the ashtrays are also always broken, cracked. Almost seems too good to be true..

Oh, that's right! You do have one, *facepalm*. I wish I had some legitimate advice on studying but I just force myself to sit down and do it. Having a study partner helps but you have to make sure not to end up using him/her as a crutch (being used as the crutch is fine by me because helping others only furthers my understanding)
K-Roll-PorscheTamer

I have neither a study partner nor a crutch. And it's VERY hard under most circumstances to make myself sit down and study when I'm not in the library which closed when I returned from dinner.
So yeah, some form of "Oppovention" would help. :P

If you have a test tomorrow: Go. Study. Now.
You don't have to understand something the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time. Youtube can be an excellent tool for some subjects just don't let yourself stray into off-topic videos. Remember that you really have to immerse yourself in the material, if you find yourself zoning out start over from the last part you remember. Don't just go through the motions. Now go be productive!

I'd honestly love to have another local SW20 owner. I'd say do it if it's responsible, if not hold off until it is.

But it's 1am and I've got class at 9:30am(which is my second problem, I usually get 4-5 hours of sleep per night). I do have a quiz on Friday though.

It's the GMAT. It's not really something you can study for as it's an aptitude test. I'm just super nervous because I haven't taken any form of test in more than 3 years, and it costs $250 to take a GMAT so I really don't want to fuck up

Also, you should definitely autocross to take your mind off of the test and relax.

O.K., Let me see if I understand this right. He's overly serious about autocross as long as its only with the PCA. You guys don't Solo with the SCCA because the competition may embarrass you. Yet, he needs an intervention to get his priorities in order.
Well I'm one of those "intense" SCCA SOLO drivers and I do autocross with other organizations, but that just for testing and tuning, i.e., if it ain't SCCA, it ain't serious.
GO DO YOUR SCHOOL WORK!!!!

Yeah... You definitely don't understand this right. JHJ's attitude towards autox is something you can ask him about as I can't speak for him. That said, there's more diversity in SCCA events which would make it easier for him to compare his skills to drivers with similar cars. As for the general competition, both events welcome novices and there generally is a new person or two each event. When it comes to the best drivers, the two people I mentioned run in events hosted by both groups and are great drivers and I have nothing but respect for them. The reason I'm not attending this weekends SCCA event is due to my own school work along with the fact that this weekends endurocross requires people who sign-up to be an SCCA member, neither Jay nor myself are SCCA members. I've found that members of each group are friendly and serious. This post was tongue-in-cheek and I don't have anything against SCCA SOLO and I haven't a clue how this post could've been interpreted as such.

Mine was tongue in cheek, too. Cheers! I liked challenging myself with the best drivers (ride alongs with them really helped me step my game up). A full season chasing the points and calculating my PAX times, getting tips a tutelage from the better drivers was a thrilling, family-oriented experience. I gave it up this year for LSR. Maybe next year...
